How to catch the Athens hop-on hop-off bus

You can join the tour at any designated stop, but the most popular starting points are Syntagma Square and the Acropolis. These hubs are easily accessible from anywhere in the city.

By Train

The Athens Metro is excellent. Take the Red Line (Line 2) to 'Acropoli' for the Parthenon stop, or the Red/Blue Lines to 'Syntagma' for the main square. The bus stops are prominently located near the station exits.

By Car

Driving in central Athens is not recommended due to traffic and scarce parking. If you must drive, park at one of the paid garages near Syngrou Avenue or the peripheral stations, then take the metro or walk to the nearest Blue Bus or Red Bus stop.

By Bus

Public buses and trolleybuses weave through the city constantly. The X95 airport express drops you right at Syntagma Square, where you can immediately switch to the sightseeing bus. Piraeus cruise passengers can find the bus terminal right outside the cruise terminal gates.

On Foot

If you are staying in Plaka, Monastiraki, or Psyri, you are likely within a 10-minute walk of a stop. Look for the bright red, yellow, or blue double-decker buses and their signposts along major avenues like Amalias or Panepistimiou.

The beating heart of modern Athens. Watch the Evzones in their traditional kilts perform the changing of the guard, then stroll through the National Garden or shop on Ermou Street.
